Our Work

Louisiana is the “Sportman’s Paradise.” Our wealth of natural virtues is what makes us unique, what has shaped our culture, and ultimately has set the stage for a beautiful but sometimes complicated coexistence between man and nature. The bounty of the natural world in Louisiana and our geography has made Louisiana a unique and multifaceted place to live. It is only natural that the rich geology of this region and the transportation superhighway of the MS river has led Louisiana to being one of the most highly industrialized centers in North America. Within this petrochemical capital of the South lies some of the most beautiful and bountiful forest land, the most important river in the country, the nation’s largest swamp as well as one of the most productive and important fishing grounds in the world. Participating in all of these industries, in all of these environments, are the incredible hard-working people of Louisiana.

LEAN works to address the issues that arise as these industries and inhabitants work to coexist sustainably. Our work spans many areas and categories but always strives for the same goal: to make Louisiana a healthy place to live.
